Production Team Lead (Optical Instrumentation) – Rancho Cucamonga, CA

We are seeking a Production Team Lead (Optical Instrumentation) to join our US team assembling and servicing precision optical instruments! You will oversee the activities of a small team of production workers, as well as be a hands-on member of the team.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate the Trioptics, Inc. production team with regards to order planning, work assignments, purchasing, etc. using lean manufacturing methods
  • Assemble, test and qualify optical precision instruments as part of the production team (mechanics, optical assembly, electronics)
  • Repair and calibrate optical precision instruments
  • Report production status, schedules and key performance indicators to management
  • Improve and create documentation like assembly instructions, bills of materials, technical documentation, quality documentation etc.
  • Make suggestions and implement improvements to the production processes and the products
  • Take part and be a driving force for continous improvement of the company
  • Adhere to all safety policies and procedures

Qualifications:

  • >3 years of hands-on experience in assembly of precision (ideally optical) instrumentation required
  • Background in optics instrumentation or technology, physics or precision manufacturing required
  • >1 year experience leading a team required
  • Hands-on mentality
  • Strong leadership qualities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge about lean manufacturing (e.g. Six Sigma) techniques
    required
  • Experience in MCAD (Solidworks) preferred

Mechanical Design Engineer Active Alignment of Optical Systems (San Jose area, CA)

Job description

  • You will work closely with our US customers as well as our teams in the US and Germany on state-of-the-art product and process development projects in the Automotive and Consumer Electronics fields
  • Design machine parts and fixtures for R&D and production equipment and generate corresponding documentation
  • Build, test and optimize prototypes together with customers based on existing Trioptics technology
  • Engage with customers on how to best apply our technology to their applications and make proposals of how to improve customer designs for manufacturability
  • Work hands-on with the team to bring projects to a successful conclusion

Required technical qualifications

  • BE or Master in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
  • 5+ years professional experience with proven track record in the Consumer Electronics or Automotive industry, preferably with a strong optics background
  • Solid background in 3D MCAD (Solidworks)
  • Experience with process automation and precision mechanics
  • Willingness to think out of the box and learn quickly
  • Good knowledge of safety standards for production equipment
  • Experience with AR/VR systems and/or automotive cameras for ADAS is a big plus

Job description

  • Develop interfaces between customer camera sensors, displays, etc. and Trioptics software
  • Customize machine control software to specific applications, teach positions and optimize sample handling
  • Build, test and optimize prototypes together with customers based on existing Trioptics technology
  • Work hands-on with the team to bring projects to a successful conclusion

Required technical qualifications

  • BE or Master in Software Engineering or equivalent
  • 5+ years professional experience developing hardware-centric software and/or in an automation environment
  • Solid background in C++/Python/C# and programming PLCs
  • Willingness to think out of the box and learn quickly
  • Experience with AR/VR systems and/or automotive cameras for ADAS is big plus
